Description

American Illustration Art painting by Lloyd Rognan (1923 - 2005) well known illustrator who contributed to Rogue Magazine and many other books and publications and is well known for his contributions at Elle magazine, science fiction pulp magazines; Imaginative Tales, Imagination, Fate, Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine and Brown and Bigelow's Hillybilly Humour Calendars, as well as art for Isaac Asimov. This oil on illustration board was created for an unknown publication and features an modernized allegorical theme featuring an elderly Satyr watching while a younger one frolicks with a nude woman. I have a number of original illustrations from Mr. Rognan's estate including a signed Playboy illustration by the famous Phil Interlandi (pictured below). The painting is stamped with Mr. Rognan's estate seal.
